We here at Sharon Church refer to our ministry with Senior Adults as our JOY Ministry (Jesus, Others, You). We have a faithful and active group of seniors who enjoy gatherings/fellowships, day trips, overnight trips, Bible studies, ministry to others in our church, and, of course, frequent fellowships “around the tables” enjoying lots of delicious food and fellowship. There is no specific beginning age when you may join us; that’s up to you. Just know that you will always be loved and welcomed any time that you can join us for anything that we do.

We here at Sharon view our seniors as a treasured resource. We honor our seniors as the Scriptures tell us:

 12 The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon;
13 planted in the house of the Lord, they will flourish in the courts of our God.
14 They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green,

15 proclaiming, “The Lord is upright he is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in him.”

                                                     ((Psalm 92: 12-15)

Some of our recent activities include:  luncheons with a variety of program topics (estate planning, living safely at home, maintaining a healthy diet, an appropriate exercise routine, choosing the best Medicare Supplement, enjoying encouraging movies on the big screen, etc).

Some of our day trips have included: Delta Flight Museum, attending various plays at The Fox Theatre,  Macon Cherry Blossom Festival, Museum of Aviation at the Warner Robins Air Force Base, visiting the High Museum, tour and lunch at the Georgia State Capital, touring WSB TV & Radio, touring the William Breman Jewish Heritage & Holocaust Museum, The Biblical History Museum in LaGrange, etc.

Our best overnight trip was our trip to the Ark Encounter and Creation Museum in Williamstown Kentucky.

Jeff Ayers, Sharon’s Minister of Pastoral Care, serves as our staff liaison/leader and gives leadership to the Chapel Service each Sunday morning at 8:30a in the Sharon Church Chapel, while Dr. Robert Rohm teaches/preaches each Lord’s Day. The Chapel Service is a traditional worship service with hymns, choruses, and our chapel choir that most of our seniors attend. (No childcare is provided during this service).

 For more information, contact Jeff at or at the church office at (770) 957-5072. We’d love to hear from you and serve you in any way possible.
