Sharon Church Core Beliefs

God

We believe in one God, Creator of all, holy, sovereign, eternal, existing in three equal Persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. God is the same today as he was when he created the universe: he is good, glorious, generous, omnipresent, all-powerful, and he is holier than we can even begin to imagine.                                                                                                                                                          Genesis 1:1, Matthew 3:16-17, John 1:1-2, Acts 2:32-33

Jesus Christ

Jesus, God the Son, came to Earth and was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died for our sins and rose from the dead. He's still alive and changing lives today!

Colossians 2:9, Luke 1:30-35, 1 Corinthians 15:3-8, 2 Corinthians 5:21

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is a comforter and a guide for every born-again believer. He actually lives inside of us, His Temple, and does more for us than we can imagine.

John 16:8, Acts 2:38, Ephesians 1:13-14

Bible

The Bible is the book God wrote for us, a true love letter. We believe God's word is inerrant, timeless, and is meant to fuel our devotion to God. Every discussion about who God is and how he works should start and end in the Bible.

2 Timothy 3:16-17

Mankind

We're not perfect. We've sinned. All of us. We need help. We need Jesus. We also need each other and that's what Church is all about. Mankind is born with a nature of sin and is in need of saving; nothing we on our own can pull us out of our state of sin.

Genesis 1:27, Romans 3:23, Acts 4:12

Salvation

It's a gift. It's free. It's God's grace, not your good works. Jesus' death allows your sins - all of them - to be forgiven. Wiped out, canceled, deleted, and allows us to have a relationship with God through faith in the person and work of Jesus. The gift is free, for all and all you have to do is accept it.

John 3:16, Ephesians 2:8-9, Colossians 2:6, Acts 2:38
