This is an overview of the Committee and Ministry of Sharon Baptist Church. We want you who are members to be able to understand fully how the church does its ministry and how you can become a part of that ministry. God has given each of us Spiritual Gifts to be used in service for Him to others. The greatest joy in this world is to know how God has gifted and called you and then to offer those gifts back to Him in service. There is room for you at Sharon!
Committee or Ministry Overview
AWANA: The purpose of this ministry is to reach boys and girls for Jesus Christ and train them to serve Him.It is a combination of learning, earning badges, playing games.
BAPTISM COMMITTEE: The purpose of this committee is to prepare for and assist those being baptized at Sharon.
BENEVOLENCE MINISTRY: The purpose of this committee is to provide some physical, financial and spiritual need of the church family and the community.
BEREAVEMENT MINISTRY: The purpose of this ministry is to provide a focal contact to coordinate for the physical and spiritual needs of the church family in time of grief.
BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS COMMITTEE: The purpose of this committee is to oversee the maintenance of the facilities of Sharon Baptist Church.
CEMETERY COMMITTEE: The purpose of this committee is to oversee the use and maintenance of the cemetery of Sharon Baptist Church.Each family of the church is entitled to a cemetery plot as long as the space is available.
CHILDREN'S MINISTRY: The purpose of this ministry is to provide a program, including Children's Worship, for the children; which is special to meet their needs.
CHURCH STEERING COMMITTEE: The purpose of this committee is to lead the church in planning for growth spiritually and physically. The committee must plan for long-term expansion.
DEACON MINISTRY: The purpose of this ministry is to support the Pastor in a shared ministry to the church body. Deacons are called to be servants. They are nominated and voted on by the church membership.
DISCIPLESHIP MINISTRY: The purpose of this ministry is to provide a place to train to be more like Christ using God's Word.
FINANCE COMMITTEE: The purpose of this committee is to help guide the church with the finances by establishing a proposed budget coordinated to the church ministry needs. The committee will develop a budget yearly and present it to be voted on by the church.
HOSPITALITY: The purpose of this committee is to coordinate Church-wide functions and present a suitable atmosphere befitting the fellowship with Christian hospitality.
KITCHEN COMMITTEE: The purpose of this committee is to provide adequate supplies and help to prepare for events of the church that require the use of the kitchen area.
MISSION ACTIVITY COMMITTEE: The purpose of this committee is to keep the church body focused on the mission activities proposed to the church for their participation.
MUSIC MINISTRY: The purpose of this ministry is to provide music for all ages to be used for the Glory of God.
NOMINATING COMMITTEE: The purpose of this committee is to involve every member in the ministry of serving, according to their gifts and passions, at Sharon Baptist Church.
SHARON ACADEMY MINISTRY: The purpose of this ministry is to provide a place for education in a Christian atmosphere. The Academy is a separate entity from the church and has its own staff and teachers.
SUNDAY AM BIBLE FELLOWSHIP:The purpose of this ministry is to provide a place to study God's Word and share with other in the community. It is organized for teaching, edification, fellowship and ministry.
USHERS COMMITTEE: The purpose of this committee is to assist in the preparation for worship service, welcoming and greeting members and guests as they assemble to worship.
YOUTH MINISTRY: The purpose of this ministry is to provide effective adult leadership and guidance with respect to youth activities and Christian learning. We desire to help them develop a Christ-like walk for their daily lives.
