"HIS PLACE"

“My Greatest Valentine”

“For God so loved the world that He gave

His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him,

should hot perish but have everlasting life.”

John 3:16

Valentines Day used to be a big event when I

was in grade school. Each child prepared

a specially decorated box (shoe box) with a

slit in it to receive cards from all our friends

in our classroom. Some of our classmates

made a “popularity contest” out of it.

(The person getting the most cards was

the “most popular”--according to the “rules”)

I was never the most ”popular”:

But it was a fun day filled with laughter

and goodies. We all enjoyed seeing our

teacher open her cards--knowing that she

would be most pleased with “mine”.

Later years Valentine’s Day was more serious,

looking forward to a card, a box of candy or

flowers from that special person. Maybe it

would even be signed with “Love”.

Our Father sent His Love to all

who would receive His Gift--

No popularity contest; no fancy rules

or regulations--just simple faith

in the Gift of His Son.

And it was signed

“I Love You”,
